AWL Builder:

This application is intended to assist learners and educators in utilizing the esteemed Academic Word List (AWL). The AWL is an accessible wordlist provided under an open-source license with permission.

The application offers straightforward features to aid in downloading, emailing, and organizing the AWL. Additionally, study tools are included to facilitate efficient word acquisition, maintain detailed progress records, and enable progress sharing via email with oneself or an instructor.

The word definitions are presented in clear English, supplemented with the word's part of speech, Japanese translation, and pronunciation by a native English speaker.

About the AWL:

• The Academic Word List was curated by Dr. Averil Coxhead, a Professor at Victoria University of Wellington. Comprising 570 words, these are the most prevalent and vital academic terms beyond the fundamental 2000 GSL words in English. Awareness of the core 2000 words and 570 AWL terms allows for 87% coverage of words commonly found in academic literature at colleges and universities.
